MDAMAGER
"Glorified Button Pusher" - MDamager Because that's what we are, aren't we? Us Electronic musicians: The scum of the musical world. We didnt have the talent to play a real instrument, like the trombone or the accordian so we build our entire identities around the acquisition of high-tech magical boxes we didn't build and barely understand. We just push a few buttons, tweak a few knobs and let a computer do all the hard work for us. I took that idea of my own inherent musical laziness and ran with it. Or sat with it at least. At a computer, pushing buttons by the thousands until I ended up with this thing that could push those buttons for me. It listens to what you're saying, has a bloody good crack at turning it to words, which it then makes into midi data to be spat at a synth It looks at the first letter of each sentence and picks one of the diatonic modes in C major. Then it assigns note values to each letter, generates a rhythmic pattern so that every word is one bar long and plays the resulting composition for ever and ever and ever so you can stop pushing buttons and really focus on tweaking knobs instead.
